More concepts...

Me and Fraser are near the end of the deadline of the modelling the building so we didn't get to blog anything because of the tight schedule.


Rough sketches of the building.

First off, me and Fraser had similar ideas of how the buildings visually look like but the thing we lacked was the architecture of the Council flat. So we had a argument about the design, we agreed that the flat should be a rectangular shaper rather than square.

But we also wanted a shape that isn't so normal so we came up for a solution that the Flat should be shaped like an "I" shape.

So we started modelling the flat...

Concept Work

Second Post!!

Hi this is Nixon blogging. In Momster film, I am designing and modelling the council flat along with the FJK (AKA Fraser).

Below is some of the research based on existing animation:

I looked mostly at Hayao Miyazaki films: Laputa-Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.
The other animation films are Tekkon Kinkreet, Garden of Sinner and FFVII: Advent Children.


Here are some of the live research I done. I concentrated mostly on the effects of the appearance of the decaying Council Flat. From tagging, paint peeling, overgrown plants, bill boards etc.
